Primary sources, or it doesn’t go up
Every figure on this site — a rebate amount, an APR, a bike spec, a subscription price — is checked against its primary source: the government or utility program page, the lender, the manufacturer, the provider. Not a press release, not another blog. Where a source doesn’t publish something, we mark it “unconfirmed” rather than guess or repeat a number we can’t stand behind.
Everything carries a date
Rebate budgets run dry, prices move, programs close. So each data-bearing page shows the date we last verified it, and we recheck on a rolling basis — prioritising fast-moving things like rebate funding rounds and sale prices. A program that has closed is labelled closed, not quietly left in the list to pad it out.
How affiliate links affect our content: they don’t
Some links earn us a commission. That changes nothing about what you see. We order options by what matters to the reader — rate, amount, terms — never by what pays us, and we include options we earn nothing from, such as government rebates, credit unions and CDFIs. If a commission ever conflicted with showing you the better option, the better option wins. Our affiliate disclosure has the full detail.
Corrections
We’d rather hear it from you than be wrong. If a number looks off or a program has changed, tell us via the contact page — include the page and the source if you have it — and we’ll check it against the primary source and fix it quickly. Material corrections are noted with a fresh verification date.
Publishers, not advisors
This is money-adjacent information, and we treat it that way. We compare options and explain how they work; we don’t tell you which to choose, and nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. For a decision that turns on your own circumstances, talk to a qualified professional. We compare. We don’t advise. You decide.
