Texas e-bike rebates in 2026
Texas has no statewide e-bike rebate. The help is local and tied to your utility: Austin Energy pays up to $600 back on a new e-bike, or up to $1,300 on its income-qualified Customer Assistance Program; the City of Denton offers 50% up to $750 to its electric customers. Both are reimbursements — you buy first, then claim. There’s no federal e-bike credit either.

The help is entirely local, and both programs we can verify are utility-run — you have to be that utility’s electric customer to qualify at all.

Austin’s top number needs a pricey bike
Austin Energy’s E-Ride rebate is tiered: $400 on a $1,000–$1,999 bike, $600 at $2,000 and up. Its income-qualified Customer Assistance Program pays up to $1,300. You claim within 60 days of buying.

Denton is 50% up to $750 — while funds last
Denton Municipal Electric pays half the price up to $750. The e-bike pot refreshes each October 1 and then runs to a waitlist, and you can claim it twice in any 12 months.

- San Antonio: the City runs a small income-qualified voucher pilot — it’s the City, not CPS Energy.

No. The federal E-BIKE Act has been introduced several times but never passed, so there’s no national e-bike credit to fall back on in Texas.
